Assistive Software/Technology and the AODA

The Definition of Assistive Technology or AT is: “Any piece of equipment or product system,
whether acquired commercially, modified or customized, that is used to increase, maintain or
improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities” Assistive Technology Act,
1998. It has been shown that assistive technology help individuals with learning disabilities
understand text and make learning more accessible.
